Committees

HTA Committees

Member involvement in our committees is integral to the success of HTA as a whole. Serving on a committee is one way to ensure we are union strong.

The list of our standing committees are:

Grievance: handles violations of the contract.

Elections: conducts elections for the chapter.

Insurance: meets with district stakeholders throughout the year to determine healthcare options.

Negotiations: works on behalf of the association to bargain with management for fair contract language.

Organizing: establishes a community presence through various means and organizes members and sites when in a bargaining crisis.

PAC: The Political Action Committee shall serve to educate voters on school issues, as well
as recruit and campaign for local candidates.

PAR: Acts as a mentor to teachers who have been placed due to poor evaluations.

SPED: The Special Education committee will act as special liaisons in communicating special education issues to the HTA body
